Ascot Residence. Perth
Scope of Works
This project was an extension and renovation of a two storey detached house in Ascot Waters, Perth. The owner wanted to extend on to the existing veranda to make a new dining room and larger kitchen. The bathrooms, laundry and study were also renovated. Externally a new pergola, new driveway and the repainting of the house was completed.
We provided the design and project management service for the renovation. In conjuction with the interior designer, we prepared the DA and submitted it to the local council. Then drawings were completed for tender, which were sent out to three Builders. We helped the Client select a Builder. Finally, we provided the project management on behalf of the Client until the project was completed.

Description of the Project
The Client requested a new dining room to be built in the existing verandah. This allowed a new design for the kitchen, making it a larger and more efficient space with an increase in storage. A large island bench was introduced with seating and bookshelves. Two ovens were included in a bank of cabinets. On the end wall, a large hotplate, a combination of gas and induction, is located with an exposed kitchen hood. A glass splashback completes the modern, clean look. The cabinets are a warm timber mixed with a clean white, and the bench top is white porcelain. A pendant light in gold and white was chosen as a feature above the island bench.
The bathroom layouts were reconfigured to make them more efficient. New tiling in tones of grey with a deep blue chevron feature tile are complemented by the timber cabinets and white benchtops. Deep porcelain sinks and wall-mounted tapware complete the modern look. Plantation shutters were installed on the windows.
A new full length laundry bench with a stainless steel sink was introduced with the washing machine below the bench. This allowed plenty of space for working in the laundry. Overhead cupboards increased storage space. A small study was built-in, with a desktop and overhead cabinets.
A new alfresco area, with a pergola, was built off the dining room with access gained through new sliding-folding doors. The house was refreshed with a white and coffee colour scheme and a new exposed aggregate driveway was installed. A new timber front door and letter box finishes off the look.
